"The SS14 Spring Fashion Weeks started off in New York, then London, Milan, Paris and more. With hundreds of shows during the weeks and multiple locations to cover, getting photos online as quickly as possible was crucial."
Photographers would shoot the runway, sometimes up to 850 images per show and upload them to the editors who would perfect the images and send them to Style.com's INSTANT webpage where people could watch the show in near real time.
I was responsible for the development, implementation and operation of a reliable mobile broadband unit that would be able to use the best of a range of signals in each location. I also refined the workflow for live photography to give it a redundancy so that shows went live in even the most remote locations.
I traveled through America, England, Italy and France with the international photography team and attended many shows to make sure the technology was performing well.
As well as photography I also worked on Tom Ford's house video coverage in London and advised the broadcast crew in Toronto for their live video shows.
Highlights were the Jeremy Scott show in New York, Versace in Milan and YSE in Paris.
